Greenify

Design brief: Design an educational hybrid game (with physical and digital components) that can be played located and dislocated with three or more players.

Greenify is an educational game designed to teach players about sustainable living, by transforming an unsustainable household into an eco-friendly one. Users can make their digital home more sustainable by making adjustments like adding recycling bins or installing energy-efficient applications. Each adjustment costs green coins, so users need to manage their budget to save for bigger improvements.

The game consists of a digital house, a physical lighthouse, and a physical game board connected to the computer. The board is divided into rooms where users can place tokens to make certain adjustments. The users’ progress is visualized through a lighthouse that turns more green with every sustainable choice. When reaching 150 points your lighthouse will be fully green, indicating you win the game.

The game helps players think strategically, manage their budgets, and teaches them practical tips for living more sustainably. This promotes awareness and understanding of how to make eco-friendly choices in daily life.
