Design brief: Develop an intervention that effectively assists users in avoiding screen usage one hour before sleep and promotes a healthier pre-sleep routine.

DIMMED is designed to help users abstain from phone-usage one hour before sleep. It focuses on personalization, suggesting alternatives, and encouraging self-monitoring.

During use, DIMMED leaves space for own routines, but when the urge to check your phone arises, it makes you rethink your action and intentionally choose your activity, by highlighting one of the leaves. It comes with an accompanying booklet to track progress, document motivation, and personalized strategies to support commitment to a balanced relationship with technology.

DIMMED provides a practical solution to reduce screen time before sleep, promoting better sleep hygiene.
